Solid green, darker above and lighter below, with some blue visible on wings when flying. Pale bill and medium length tail. Stockier and darker than Mountain Parakeet. Mostly small flocks are small, but sometimes over 300 individuals. Eats seeds, buds, and berries, breeds in burrows in steep banks. Formerly known as B. audicolus.
